In the life of every Hajj and Umrah pilgrim, the last circle around the Kaaba is the most emotional one. Your heart knows it's time to leave Makkah, but your soul isn't ready to let go - and that is when you bid your final farewell to the House of Allah.
It is not just an ending ritual, it is a goodbye filled with tears, dua, and hope of return.
In the end, Tawaf al Wada is a request to call again to the House of Allah (SWT), and understanding it correctly is what makes your farewell complete.
The word "Wada" means farewell. It is the last Tawaf around the Holy Kaaba to bid goodbye to Masjid al Haram. It is the last ritual you perform before leaving Makkah.
It is not a Tawaf for fun or for extra reward only. It is a Sunnah filled with respect, a way of saying, "O Allah, I came to Your House, and now I am leaving with hope that You will call me again."
It is performed after all other rituals of Hajj or Umrah are complete.
After this Tawaf, you should head directly for your journey, without unnecessary delay.

Finish your shopping, gift buying, and packing first.
Return your hotel room key or keep luggage at reception.
Confirm your bus/taxi to Jeddah or to your next city.
Go to Haram with wudu.
Do your Tawaf al-Wada.
Pray 2 rakahs if you can.
Drink Zamzam.
Then leave directly for your transport.

Begin at Hajar al-Aswad. If you can reach it easily, touch it or kiss it. If the Mataf is too crowded - which it usually is - just face it and gesture with your hand from a distance. That is enough, and your Tawaf is valid. Don't push others to reach it.
Complete seven full rounds around the Kaaba, keeping the Kaaba on your left and moving in an anti clockwise direction. Count your rounds carefully.
You must be in wudu. Ritual purity is essential throughout the Tawaf. This is not optional.
Many pilgrims get this part right - they use this time to open their heart. The walking is the outer form, but the real value is inside. Are you present? Are you sincere? Are you making duas that truly come from your heart and not just from your tongue?

Duas: This is where people look for Tawaf al-Wada dua and supplications. There is no fixed dua from the Sunnah that you _must_ read in each round.

When you are done, leave. Don't linger in Makkah without a reason. Head directly for your departure - except for genuine needs like loading your bags, boarding your transport, or buying essential items for travel.

For elderly pilgrims, use the upper floors where it is less crowded. The reward is the same.
After completing the Tawaf, don't turn your back towards the Kaaba in disrespect. Walk backwards a few steps if possible, looking at the Kaaba with love.
